Light Party 2024

On Wednesday 30th October we had our Light Party with almost 200 children and their families attending and enjoying lots of fun activities including:

  • S'mores over an open fire

  • Bouncy castle

  • 'Dunking' for apples

  • Lighthouse Craft station

  • Decorating chocolate apples

  • Glow in the dark skittles

  • Treasure Hunt competition

A Light Party is an alternative to traditional Halloween parties which take place at this time of year and are intended to gently introduce people to the Light of the World, Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, He came to earth just over 2000 years ago, He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life yet He was put to death in the most cruel and painful way by crucifixion on a cross at Calvary. Jesus could have prevented this cruel event taking place but yet He willingly went to the cross which was ordinarily reserved for the vilest offenders, so that He could pay the price for our sins. Through Jesus' death, burial and resurrection, we can have forgiveness of sins through faith in Him. By faith, we can be born again and have the reality of our sins forgiven, peace with God and the assurance of a home in Heaven.

'Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.' John 8:12
